Our client is a leading energy company focused on developing, owning, and operating battery energy storage systems (BESS) to reduce grid volatility and enhance system resiliency. The company currently operates hundreds of megawatt-hours in ERCOT and has a multi‑gigawatt-hour development pipeline spanning more than ten states. Role OverviewOur client is seeking an FP&A Manager / Director to join its finance team during a critical phase of organizational build‑out. This role is designed to build and formalize the company’s FP&A function as it scales a growing portfolio of utility‑scale BESS projects. The FP&A Manager / Director will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, while developing the systems, reporting frameworks, and analytical capabilities needed to support a rapidly expanding platform.
The position offers a unique opportunity to step into a high impact role with direct exposure to senior leadership, and a clear path to grow into a broader finance leadership position over time.
- Own and lead all core FP&A processes, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long‑range planning
- Build and maintain corporate financial models, including forecasting across a growing pipeline of BESS projects
- Partner closely with the CFO to support strategic planning, capital allocation, and business decision‑making
- Develop and implement scalable FP&A processes, reporting frameworks, and financial tools
- Analyze financial and operational performance, providing insights to senior leadership
- Collaborate cross functionally with project finance, development, accounting, and executive teams to ensure alignment across financial plans and project execution
- Support preparation of board and investor materials, including financial reporting and performance updates
- Track key business drivers, including project timelines, capital deployment, and operating performance Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles
- Prior experience in renewable energy, energy storage, or infrastructure required
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with experience building and maintaining models
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes
- Ability to operate effectively in a lean, high‑growth environment with significant ownership
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with senior stakeholders
- Background in investment banking, consulting, or corporate finance is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
- Ability to work in the office in Miami 4 days a week
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills required
- Build and own the FP&A function during a critical growth phase
- Work directly with senior leadership, including the CFO
