International Tax Manager – Private Client Services
We are seeking an experienced and strategic International Tax Manager to lead complex international tax compliance and consulting engagements for U.S. and foreign individuals with cross-border investments, entities, and global income reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating the complexities of U.S. international tax rules, wealth preservation, and global tax planning strategies.
Responsibilities- Manage and review international tax compliance engagements for high-net-worth individuals, foreign nationals, expatriates, trusts, and closely held entities, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858, 8938, FBAR, 3520, 3520-A, and related international informational filings.
- Advise clients on cross-border tax planning, inbound and outbound investments, foreign ownership structures, residency and expatriation matters, and international estate and gift tax considerations.
- Provide guidance on U.S. taxation of foreign corporations, PFICs, CFCs, Subpart F income, GILTI, foreign tax credits, treaty positions, and global reporting requirements.
- Assist high-net-worth individuals and families with international wealth preservation, succession planning, and tax-efficient structuring of global assets and investments.
- Conduct advanced tax research and prepare technical memoranda addressing complex international and private client tax matters.
- Collaborate with Private Client Services, Estate & Trust, Advisory, and Assurance teams to deliver integrated solutions tailored to clients’ financial and personal objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and high-quality service delivery.
- Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and staffing to ensure efficient execution and exceptional client service.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop associates and senior associates, fostering technical growth and professional development.
- Stay current with evolving U.S. and international tax legislation, regulatory developments, and global tax initiatives impacting private clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
- Master’s in Taxation, JD, or LL.M. in Taxation (preferred).
- CPA license required (or equivalent credential such as JD with active bar admission).
- 5+ years of public accounting experience, with significant focus on international tax and private client services.
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. international tax provisions affecting individuals, trusts, and closely held entities.
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, foreign nationals, expatriates, and globally mobile clients.
- Familiarity with international estate, gift, and trust planning concepts (preferred).
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex engagements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical matters in a practical, client‑focused manner.
