Qualifications- Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, and/or Business Administration with a focus in internal auditing or equivalent.
- One (1) to three (3) years of verifiable audit or internal experience
. Experience in Indian Gaming is a plus. - Ability to remain objective, neutral, and keep required information confidential
. - Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a changing environment
. - Ability to work through high volume and/or stressful time periods
. - Priority of tasks based on urgency
. - Experience with casino/hotel auditing is a plus.
- Eligibility for an occupational gaming license
. - Effective communication in English, both written and oral
. - Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
- Knowledge of auditing principles and standards and familiarity with various computer systems and applications.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze gaming and hotel operations
. - Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access with ability to create complex formulas.
- History of handling confidential information appropriately using discretion, integrity and diplomacy.
- Ability to build effective and collaborative relationships with departments within the organization.
- Can obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License.
- Maintain physical stamina and appropriate mental attitude while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Frequent mobility required around the property and manual dexterity to operate job‑related equipment.
- Ability to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental contaminants including smoke.
- Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 20 pounds unassisted.
- Works well with others, communicates effectively, receives direction, and provides feedback when needed.
- Positive attitude toward work and congenial interaction with guests.
- Handles stressful situations with clients with dignity and utmost tact and politeness.
- Handles supplies safely and maintains proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
The primary responsibility of the Jr. Internal Auditor is to assist Internal Audit Management by providing independent objective assurance and consulting designed to protect organizational value and enhance operations.
- Adhere to Miccosukee Service Expectations and ensure team compliance.
- Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records and relevant documentation.
- Confirm that documentation obtained contains sufficient, competent and relevant evidential matter to support conclusions.
- Perform and document observations.
- Protect against fraud and theft of the organization’s assets.
- Provide assurance regarding compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
- Compare property controls with regulatory requirements and expected internal controls.
- Recommend improvements to internal control systems.
- Complete fieldwork, explain audit exceptions, and recommend operational enhancements.
- Conduct financial analytical reviews upon request.
- Assist with preparation and submission of Internal Audit reports.
- Conduct follow‑up audits to ensure proper procedures are implemented.
- Perform risk‑based assessment and internal reviews of the AML Program.
- Complete audit work papers, documenting audit tests and findings.
- Prepare reports reflecting audit results and document the audit process.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by Internal Audit Management.
The Casino & Resort operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shift schedules may be adjusted according to business volume. Availability to fulfill these demands is required.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member will regularly walk, stand, and sit. Occasional climbing and balance are required. Frequent use of hands and arms to carry and lift items is necessary. Clear vision is required for close and distance tasks.
Temperature fluctuations, moderate to high noise levels, and a smoking environment may be encountered while performing this job.
