Bookkeeper
Job Description
The Bookkeeper manages day-to-day financial transactions and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role maintains general ledger activity, prepares and analyzes financial reports, and assists with month-end close processes. The position supports leadership by monitoring cash flow and contributing to budgeting and forecasting activities, while leveraging Quick Books and Excel to maintain clear, organized, and compliant financial documentation.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain and record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
+ Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
+ Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheets.
+ Ensure financial records are accurate, up to date, and in compliance with internal policies and procedures.
+ Monitor cash flow and support leadership with budgeting and forecasting activities.
+ Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data and account balances.
+ Maintain organized financial documentation to support audits, reporting, and internal reviews.
+ Collaborate with leadership and office staff to provide timely financial information and support decision-making.
+ Assist with month-end close processes by preparing reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation.
+ Uphold strong attendance, reliability, and adherence to deadlines to ensure consistent financial operations.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience.
+ Hands-on experience with Quick Books (Online or Desktop) preferred.
+ Proficiency with Excel preferred for managing and analyzing financial data.
+ Solid understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheet accounts.
+ Experience performing account reconciliations, including bank and credit card accounts.
+ High attention to detail and accuracy in all financial work.
+ Strong organizational skills to maintain structured and accessible financial records.
+ Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
+ Strong attendance and reliability to support consistent business operations.

Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position with standard hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will work in an office environment as part of a small, close-knit team, collaborating directly with leadership. The organization is family owned and operated and emphasizes a supportive, team-oriented culture, including company benefits and periodic company barbecues. The role involves regular use of Quick Books (Online or Desktop) and Excel, as well as other standard office and accounting tools, in a professional office setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Medley, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
