Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

MA Staffing has partnered with an international Construction company looking for a Controller to oversee financial, accounting, and cost control functions, w/ experience in construction accounting.

Key responsibilities include managing job cost accounting, WIP schedules, revenue recognition, and financial reports while ensuring compliance with GAAP. Will manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial reporting, working closely with project managers to protect margins.

• Job Costing & Financial Control
  :
  Maintain accuracy of job cost entries, analyze project budgets, and prepare WIP schedules and job cost reports.
• Financial Reporting & Close
  :
  Conduct month-end closings, prepare balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow analysis.
• Cash Management & Compliance
  :
  Oversee AP/AR, payroll, subcontractor pay applications, lien waivers, and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Strategic Leadership
  :
  Partner with executive leadership to drive profitability, mitigate risk, and analyze financial data for decision-making.
• Systems & Audit
  :
  Manage accounting software (Sage 300, Procore, Miter) and lead annual audits and tax preparations.

• 7–10+ years of accounting experience, with significant construction industry experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is highly desired but not a must
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300, Procore), CPA +
• Proficiency in Quick Books Enterprise software and Microsoft Excel power user.
• Strong understanding of construction cost codes, WIP reporting, and AIA billing.
• Spanish/English bilingual capabilities are a plus for the Miami market.
