A private family office is seeking a highly analytical and intellectually curious Finance & Operations Associate to work directly with the Chief Financial Officer.

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working across multiple business functions, and gaining broad exposure to finance, accounting, operations, investments, and strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong financial and analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to independently.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the CFO on financial, operational, and strategic initiatives.
  • Review accounting transactions and financial activity to identify discrepancies, missing entries, unusual trends, and potential reporting issues.
  • Investigate and reconcile accounting variances by tracing transactions through supporting documentation and underlying systems.
  • Assist in reviewing general ledger activity, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end reporting processes.
  • Research and resolve accounting and operational exceptions across multiple entities and accounts.
  • Track invoices, payments, vendor activity, and related documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, banks, investment managers, attorneys, and other service providers.
  • Assist with cash management, reporting packages, budgeting exercises, and financial analysis projects.
  • Prepare presentations, analyses, summaries, and materials for executive decision-making.
  • Manage special projects and ad hoc initiatives on behalf of the CFO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university with strong academic credentials.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in investment banking, asset management, private equity, hedge funds, family office, public accounting, consulting, corporate finance, or a similarly analytical environment. (internships will be considered as well)
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting concepts, and transaction flows.
  • Ability to identify missing, inaccurate, or incomplete accounting activity through detailed review and analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modeling capabilities preferred.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and investigative skills.
  • Highly organized with outstanding attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn across a wide range of business and financial disciplines.
