:
Our client, a private equity firm with office in Miami but headquarters in the Northeast, is looking to add a Senior Fund Accountant to their Accounting Department. Our client is well-established in the industry yet growing rapidly.

Position Overview

The Senior Fund Accountant will play a key role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting for multiple funds. This position involves close collaboration with investment and operations teams to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and fund governing documents. The role offers opportunities for professional growth and leadership within a dynamic and expanding private equity firm.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Investment and Operations teams daily to ensure the accuracy of accounting books.
  • Monitor all investments and analyze related performance to support decision-making.
  • Manage accounting processes and prepare/approve quarterly financial reports, compliance, and investor reporting for assigned funds.
  • Ensure compliance with fund governing documents and GAAP standards.
  • Research and propose accounting guidance to facilitate discussions and conclusions with team members.
  • Review call/distribution notices, credit line draw/paydown notices, partner capital statements, and investor letters; liaise with Investor Services for distribution and responses to investor inquiries.
  • Assist in the quarterly review of the valuation process for assigned funds’ portfolio investments.
  • Prepare analyses or responses to address requests from Investment and Origination professionals.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.
Required Experience/Skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience (e.g., hedge fund, private equity, bank, administrator, or public accounting).
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in financial analysis.
  • Solid planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience /Skills
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Effective and self-motivated problem solver.
  • Positive attitude with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in private equity or alternative investment accounting.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • CPA certification preferred.

    Continuing education in GAAP and investment accounting standards is a plus.
