SMB Capital is pleased to invite applications for our Summer 2026 Trading Internship, a highly selective and immersive program designed for students who are serious about developing a career in active trading.

Interns will work alongside elite traders and complete a rigorous training curriculum modeled after our full-time new hire program. This experience offers a rare opportunity to gain direct exposure to the fast-paced world of intraday trading—on a professional desk, in real market conditions.

We are looking for students who demonstrate:

• You have built, analyzed, and optimized an automated trading strategy
• You can discuss your process for developing automated strategies at length
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to thrive under pressure
• A competitive drive, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to learn in a team environment
• Academic backgrounds in computer science, economics, engineering, mathematics, or finance are welcomed—but not required

Prior trading experience is not necessary. We value work ethic, commitment to improvement, desire to collaborate, and a genuine passion for markets.

Top-performing interns who join our desk full-time benefit from a multi-phase career development path:

• Year 1:
  Build foundational trading habits and skills. Develop a personal Play Book. Begin creating basic bionic trading tools with guidance and mentorship from the Trader Development team.
• Year 2:
  Join a team of elite-level traders and scale up with advanced risk-taking and multi-product trading (equities, options, futures), and deeper integration of technical, quantitative, and discretionary edge.
• Years 3+:
  Scale up with advanced risk-taking and multi-product trading (equities, options, futures), and accelerated growth as a bionic trader through the integration of technical, quantitative, and discretionary edge.
• Ongoing Support:
  All traders work in teams and receive constant mentorship from experienced traders and senior partners.
