The Investment Associate is a seasoned professional role that applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge to develop new techniques and improve processes within the investment function. The role integrates subject‑matter and industry expertise, evaluates complex issues, and provides strong analytical, communication, and diplomacy skills. It regularly assumes informal/formal leadership within teams and contributes significantly to projects through advice, counsel, and facilitation.
Responsibilities- Provide a wide variety of service and investment advice to an Ultra High Net‑Worth client base within the United States.
- Help support senior investment team members in delivering investment solutions to clients.
- Monitor and provide guidance on the markets to internal and external clients, incorporating the views of The Private Bank’s Investment Committee.
- Prepare investment policy statements for prospective clients.
- Analyze economic trends and advise on their effects on investors’ portfolios.
- Recommend changes to investors’ holdings after evaluating economic, financial and market factors and their potential impact.
- Develop relationships and generate ideas with bankers and clients to grow the asset base.
- Engage clients on investment themes and solutions, and assist in the execution of investment solutions and trades.
- Attend internal and external meetings to stay current on financial markets and products offered by Citi Private Bank.
- Adhere to a specific prospecting code of conduct, permitting acquisition of new private client accounts only by referral or personal contact and prohibiting seminars, mail campaigns, cold calling, or other solicitation methods.
- Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, uphold the firm’s reputation, safeguard assets, drive compliance, and report control issues with transparency.
- 5–8 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business administration, or related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and be self‑motivated.
- Required FINRA credentials: SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 (or Series 63 & 65) and Series
31.
- Bachelor’s or University degree, or equivalent experience.
