Role:
The Manager will lead and advise debtors, creditors, and alternative parties on non-routine tax matters in bankruptcy and out-of-court restructurings. The role focuses on planning around unexpected cash tax leakage, optimizing the preservation of tax assets, and identifying risks and efficiencies from strategic transactions.

A&M Restructuring Tax Services (RTS) is a team of specialized tax professionals who advise parties on restructuring tax issues. They enable distressed companies to take control of tax issues throughout the restructuring process.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the team in advising public and private companies on restructuring tax issues such as cancellation of debt income, significant debt modifications, consolidated attribute reduction, in‑court versus out‑of‑court restructuring arrangements, cash tax modeling, and section 382 limitations.
• Conducting thorough research and analysis of relevant tax and bankruptcy code sections and regulations.
• Preparing comprehensive summaries of financial information for both public and private companies, contributing to a data‑driven approach.
• Building and maintaining robust financial models and management presentations, playing a key role in client communication.
• Participating in discussions with clients and their advisors.
• Supporting business development initiatives as the practice grows, showcasing the ability to contribute to a dynamic team.

• CPA, JD, master’s in tax or LLM, or bachelor’s degree in accounting (preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions tax practice at a Big Four firm, Big Law firm, or similar firm, and at least 2 years of experience in restructuring tax.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Robust analytical skills and the ability to dissect complex problems and formulate solutions.
• High proficiency in spreadsheets and managing large data sets.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong desire to learn and grow professionally, with commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ability to train and mentor junior team members, fostering collaboration.

The role offers a salary range of $145,000 to $185,000 annually, plus a discretionary bonus program.
