About the Position
The incumbent will serve as a Financial Management Analyst at USSOUTHCOM Resources and Analysis Directorate - Financial Management and Comptroller Division in Miami, FL.
Who May ApplyUS Citizens. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience includes paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer, will be credited. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
If qualifying based on education, transcripts are required.
- Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes: - Verify sufficient funds are available for disbursement prior to submission;
- Conduct research regarding financial guidance to ensure compliance within the organization;
- Generate computerized reports containing monetary data required to prepare for the administration of the organization’s budget.
- Education:
One full year of graduate‑level education in finance and/or accounting. - Superior Academic Achievement:
Successful completion of all requirements for a bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement. Criteria include:- Upper third of the graduating class;
- Grade‑point average of 3.0 or higher (B or better) or 3.5 or higher (B+ or better) based on required courses;
- Membership in a recognized national honor society.
- Combination of
Education and Experience:
A combination may be used to qualify if the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Compute as follows: divide total months of experience by 12, divide total number of completed graduate semester hours by 18, and add the two percentages.
- Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes:- Prepare recommendations for budgetary adjustments to realign funds;
- Review legal and regulatory guidelines to ensure distribution of funds is accurate;
- Monitor the rate of expenditure regarding funds and resources to properly administer the organizational budget.
- Education:
Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in finance and/or accounting. - Combination of
Education and Experience:
Compute percentage as described earlier: total months of experience over 12 plus the percentage of graduate semester hours beyond the first year over 18. At least 100% is required.
