Senior Associate, Restructuring Tax Services
Senior Associate, Restructuring Tax Services (RTS) offers specialized tax advisory for debtors, creditors, and alternative parties in bankruptcy and restructurings.
Responsibilities- Support the team in advising public and private companies on restructuring tax issues including cancellation of debt income (CODI), significant debt modifications, consolidated attribute reduction, in‑court vs. out‑of‑court restructuring arrangements, cash tax modeling, and section 382 limitations.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis on relevant tax and bankruptcy code sections and regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive summaries of financial information for both public and private companies.
- Build and maintain robust financial models and management presentations to support client communication.
- Participate in discussions with clients and their advisors.
- Support business development initiatives as the practice grows.
- CPA, JD (with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferred), Master’s in Taxation, or LLM.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a mergers & acquisitions tax practice at a Big 4 firm, Big Law firm, or similar.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Robust analytical skills, able to dissect complex problems and formulate effective solutions.
- High proficiency in spreadsheets, managing and manipulating large data sets.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines.
- Strong desire to learn and grow professionally, commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to train and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment.

Salary range: $130,000–$150,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography. A discretionary bonus program is also available, based on individual and firm performance.
