Vaco by Highspring is partnering with a growing, technology-forward organization to identify an experienced Tax Manager
. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys both technical tax work and process improvement. You'll play a key role in managing corporate tax compliance, income tax reporting, tax planning initiatives, and leveraging emerging technologies to improve efficiency across the tax function.
This position offers broad exposure to federal, state, and indirect taxes while working closely with finance and executive leadership.
ResponsibilitiesLead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions.
Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns, estimated payments, and extensions.
Manage tax audits, notices, and information requests.
Research tax issues and develop practical, compliant tax strategies.
Prepare and review tax-related journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess business impact.
Maintain and improve tax processes and internal controls.
Lead the R&D tax credit process, including documentation and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Draft technical tax memorandums and supporting documentation.
Partner with finance and business leaders on tax-related projects and initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and AI-enabled tools.
Utilize AI platforms and emerging technologies to streamline tax research, documentation, calculations, and workflow management.
Evaluate AI-generated work product to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
Continuously improve tax processes while maintaining high-quality standards.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
CPA or CPA in progress.
5+ years of corporate tax experience, including both tax provision and compliance.
Strong knowledge of federal and state income tax regulations and U.S. GAAP.
Big Four public accounting experience.
Experience with publicly traded companies.
Master's in Taxation, JD, or LLM in Taxation.
Hybrid schedule with 4 days onsite each week
