AboutBank On at Branches
As part of our commitment to advancing financial wellness, Branches has taken on a leadership role in progressing the Bank On coalition in Miami‑Dade and Broward counties. In alignment with our mission to help families build educational and financial assets, Branches is proud to serve as the convener and lead organization of the local Bank On coalition.
Through Bank On, we bring together banks and credit unions, community organizations, government agencies, and regulators to expand access to safe, affordable, and certified banking products. By integrating banking access into social services and financial wellness programs, we are helping unbanked and underbanked residents move toward long term financial stability.
This Fellowship role reflects Branches’ commitment to building brighter financial futures for individuals and families in South Florida, while contributing to the national Bank On network of best practices and innovation.
Position OverviewThe Bank On Fellow will lead and grow the Bank On Miami‑ Dade Coalition initiative. The Fellow will build and manage cross‑sector partnerships with financial institutions, government agencies, community organizations, and regulators to expand access to safe, affordable banking for unbanked and underbanked residents. By coordinating coalition activities, aligning financial products with Bank On National Standards, and integrating banking access into existing programs, the Fellow will strengthen financial inclusion efforts and support Branches’ mission to empower families toward financial wellness.
KeyAreas of Responsibility
Coalition management:
- Cultivate new and existing relationships with a wide range of partners, including government agencies, financial institutions, community organizations, and funders.
- Coordinate and enhance a vibrant multi‑sector coalition working towards the shared purpose of enhancing banking access in Miami‑Dade and Broward counties.
- Build momentum and sustain engagement of partners in the coalition.
- Design Bank On Coalition strategy, manage Bank On program budget, oversee Bank On team (as applicable). Track, analyze and report data about Bank On activities.
- Fundraise for the coalition.
Partnership Engagement:
- Lead and participate in conversations with key local stakeholders about partnership opportunities and alignment in Bank On goals.
- Introduce Bank On to local financial institutions to support the availability and growth of Bank On certified accounts.
- Communicate effectively in both large presentations and small, facilitated discussions
- Lead the Bank On messaging clearly on why access to safe, affordable banking matters
- Adapt messaging to different audiences (e.g. financial institutions, regulators, government agencies, service providers, etc.)
Coordination and Strategy:
- Use knowledge of community needs and existing systems to prioritize the most impactful direction of the Bank On coalition’s efforts.
