  • Manage and oversee day-to-day Trade & Working Capital Operations, including Letters of Credit, Trade Loans, Trade Payables and Receivables activities, issuance, amendments, document examination, discrepancies, claims, draws, payments, expiries, cancellations, disbursements, advances, booking, reporting, and servicing
  • Manage and direct assigned staff and operational functions, including workload allocation, performance management, coaching, training, cross-training, succession planning, regulatory accountability, and professional development
  • Review and approve complex transaction activity and operational exceptions within delegated authority
  • Oversee operational controls, procedures, quality assurance, exception management, escalations, audit readiness, regulatory examination support, and remediation efforts
  • Ensure required credit, regulatory, legal, compliance, and operational approvals are obtained and activities follow applicable policies and delegated authorities
  • Manage vendor relationships and monitor quality standards, service levels, contractual obligations, control expectations, regulatory requirements, and Bank policies
  • Supervise oversight of residential portfolio servicing activities performed by external vendors
  • Coordinate with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Vendor Management, business partners, and vendors to ensure compliance
  • Lead operational efficiency, digitization, automation, and process improvement initiatives
  • Partner with Product, Technology, PMO, Credit, Compliance, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Audit, and vendors on initiatives, implementations, workflow design, testing, and process improvements
  • Provide technical leadership for complex Trade Finance products and activities
  • Direct operational risk management and issue resolution, including control-gap identification, corrective actions, and escalation of significant issues
  • Prepare, review, and present operational reporting, metrics, risk summaries, issue updates, vendor oversight updates, and management information
  • Maintain and enhance procedures, control documentation, job aids, training materials, and governance practices
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in Commercial and Standby Letters of Credit, Trade Services, Documentary Collections, Trade Finance Operations, Trade Loans, Working Capital Finance, or related commercial banking operations functions
  • 5-7 years of experience managing employees, directing operational functions, overseeing complex workflows, and maintaining operational controls within a regulated financial services environment
  • 5-7 years of experience reviewing and approving complex transaction activity, resolving operational issues, managing escalations, and exercising independent judgment on operational, regulatory, compliance, and business risk
  • 2-4 years of experience leading operational efficiency initiatives, process improvements, system implementations, automation efforts, or operating model enhancements within a banking environment
  • 2-4 years of experience supporting audits, regulatory examinations, remediation activities, risk management initiatives, and operational governance programs
  • 2-4 years of experience managing vendor relationships, service performance, and compliance with contractual, regulatory, and operational requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of Standby Letters of Credit, Commercial Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, Trade Loans, Trade Payables & Receivables, and related Trade Finance products and servicing activities
  • Advanced knowledge of UCP 600, ISP
    98, URDG 758, and related operational and legal considerations
  • Strong knowledge of operational risk management, internal controls, quality assurance, segregation of duties, issue management, audit readiness, and regulatory expectations
  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, servicing processes, workflow controls, transaction processing environments, and vendor oversight practices
  • Knowledge of regulatory, compliance, contractual, and policy requirements impacting Trade Operations and related servicing activities
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including employee development, coaching, performance management, succession planning, delegation, and workforce planning
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, judgment, communication, relationship management, collaboration, project management, and change management skills
