Fin Trust Connect has partnered with a commercial banking institution to identify top talent for a Portfolio Manager opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced commercial banking professional who can combine disciplined credit underwriting and portfolio management with strong client relationship support.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Commercial Banking experience, including client relationship management and formal credit training.
  • Experience in Commercial Middle Market and/or Mid-Corporate Banking.
  • Experience managing the credit quality of a portfolio of commercial banking clients.
  • Experience with loan structuring and business development.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles, including valuation techniques and cash flow analysis.
  • Degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Preferred

  • Completion of a Commercial Banking Training Program or equivalent.

Description:

  • Underwrite and manage commercial credit relationships in alignment with established risk guidelines.
  • Serve as a primary client resource for portfolio-related matters, reporting, maintenance, and new requests involving existing credit relationships.
  • Lead renewal activities for existing clients in coordination with Relationship Managers.
  • Participate in periodic client calls and visits for the assigned portfolio.
  • Maintain pipeline activity for existing clients in Salesforce, including draws, increases, paydowns, and payoffs.
  • Drive the loan closing process with internal closing resources and portfolio support partners.
  • Monitor maturities, annual reviews, past-due payments, financial reporting, covenants, and loan document exceptions.
  • Prepare portfolio monitoring and risk-management materials, including CAMP reports, quarterly trend reviews, FAS 114 analysis, SOX controls, and risk-rating updates.
  • Review and respond to portfolio-related approval requests, including overdrafts, wires, ACH suspensions, borrowing-base availability, and loan advances.
  • Review pricing grids and tickler reports to confirm applicable pricing and fees are reflected correctly.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities, including deposit account opening and treasury management setup.
  • Consult with Relationship Managers on appropriate cross-sell opportunities.
  • Mentor and provide situational training support to Associates and Senior Associates.
  • Maintain current market knowledge and client relationships through relevant industry participation.
