Position: STRATEGIC PLANNER with Security Clearance
Duties
* Serve as a Strategic Planner in the Global Integration Branch and Strategy and Strategic Planning Division.
* Conduct research and incorporate knowledge to organize and design solutions to strategic planning problems.
* Responsible for the application and synchronization of national strategic planning guidance for the organization.
* Confirm all plans and policy issuances are properly coordinated and integrated with joint service and interagency partners to ensure the command's mission requirements achieve broad national strategic end states.
* Coordinate campaign planning and security cooperation plans to meet national strategic objectives.
* Advise personnel on technical and administrative procedures regarding the strategic planning processes.
* Develop long-range plans, goals, and objectives for the programs to manage the process through changes in guidance, funding, and priorities throughout the organization. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position is designated Tier 5, Special Sensitive, High Risk and the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Level with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access as a condition of employment.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance with eligibility for access to Special Compartmentalized Information (SCI) for the duration of employment.
* Failure to satisfactory complete any aspects of the process is grounds for termination.
* Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time to include to Latin America and the Caribbean.
* Incumbent will be required to submit to a urinalysis for illegal drug use prior to appointment and will be required to submit to a random urinalysis for illegal drug use upon employment.
* Overtime may be required on short notice. Shift work may be required on a 24/7 basis and also may be necessary during exercises, crises, or contingencies.
* Incumbent may be required to temporarily work extended and irregular tours of duty to include days, nights, shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Specialized

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes
1). Provide personnel with analyses regarding the formulation of national policy to ensure guidance is distributed among personnel for situational awareness;
2). Assess strategic plans to improve accuracy; and
3). Provide recommendations to solve operational, strategic planning issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR
