Cardiac Electrophysiology Technician 3 (U) – University of Miami
Join us as a Cardiac Electrophysiology Technician 3 (U) at the University of Miami. This full‑time staff position (Pay Grade H12) supports physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular diseases, including cardiac arrhythmias, in the invasive procedure arena.

Responsibilities- Assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular diseases and arrhythmias during invasive procedures.
- Perform basic diagnostic catheterization, interventional (PCTA, stent prep/placement, IABP), and EP procedures (EP studies, pacemaker/ICD/BIV ICD implantation, ablations).
- Operate physiological and radiographic equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain professional standards and observe all safety requirements for high‑quality patient care.
- Communicate with patients, evaluating status during procedures, and prepare access sites per lab protocols.
- Set up EKG lead placement and hemodynamic monitoring (blood pressure, pulse oximetry).
- Prepare and breakdown procedure rooms: fluid prep, drug concentrations, stock, narcotic counts, QC checks, radiographic, hemodynamic, and computer setups.
- Prepare sterile trays and fields for specified procedures.
- Wear required PPE for radiation safety (burden badges, lead aprons, goggles, gloves).
- Document pertinent patient data on encounter forms and enter hemodynamic and X‑ray systems.
- Assist physicians with EP diagnostic and mapping systems (Carto, NavX).
- Maintain sterile procedures, infectious controls, verify fluid patency of catheters, balloons, manifolds, and follow physician directions.
- Associate degree or equivalent.
- RCES certification required.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
