Shift: Full Time, Swing Nights (7pm-7am)

Job Summary: The APRN provides a wide range of primary, acute, and specialty healthcare services autonomously and in partnership with other professionals, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Services include managing patient care, prescribing medications, ordering diagnostic tests, diagnosing and treating chronic and acute conditions, performing invasive procedures, counseling, and educating patients on health‑promoting lifestyles.
Responsibilities- Conduct health assessments, make differential diagnoses, and prescribe pharmacological and non‑pharmacological treatments.
- Plan implementation through independent action, health counseling, and collaboration with the health team.
- Exercise clinical oversight and provide consultation on health care policy and procedure.
- Promote optimum health, prevent illness and injury, and manage acute and chronic health problems.
- Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems.
- Record physical findings and formulate plans and prognosis based on patient condition.
- Provide written home‑going instructions and make referrals for follow‑up.
- Collaborate with other specialties to ensure interdisciplinary management and continuity of care.
- Prepare comprehensive patient care plans as needed.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments such as physical therapy or inhalation therapy.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records.
- Educate and coach nursing staff on best practices.
- Investigate nursing literature and suggest improvements in patient care standards.
- Integrate current knowledge of professional trends and technological advances into scope of practice.
- Follow all unit‑specific policies and procedures.
- 5 to 7 years of related experience; 1 year required for units at BHH.
- Master’s degree in Nursing.
- Valid Florida Advanced Practice RN license.
- Valid APRN Board certification in specialty area.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and additional applicable life support certification (minimum 6 months validity) upon hire.
- Must meet and maintain all unit and organizational competencies and certifications.
- Analyze, organize, and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
- Understand and follow instructions; exercise sound and independent judgment.
- Use technology and software applications appropriately.
- Provide compassionate, patient‑centered care respecting diverse beliefs and practices.
