* * Risk Analyst 1. The Risk Analyst 1 (H) supports risk management activities under the supervision of a licensed or certified Health Care Risk Manager. This role assists in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to patient safety and regulatory compliance across clinical and operational areas.
** CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
*** Conducts risk assessments and safety audits in assigned departments.
* Analyzes incident reports and claims to identify trends and emerging risks.
* Prepares basic reports for leadership and regulatory bodies.
* Assists in developing and implementing risk management policies and protocols.
* Supports staff training on risk management and patient safety procedures.
* Participates in investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
** Department Specific Functions
*** Supports event and incident reporting processes in accordance with organizational, state, and federal requirements, including accurate documentation and timely escalation.
* Assists senior risk staff with medical record review and basic analysis of patient safety events across inpatient, outpatient, and specialty care settings.
* Participates in investigations and follow-up activities related to adverse events, near misses, and patient grievances under direct supervision.
* Assists with data collection, entry, and preliminary trending related to patient safety, quality, and risk prevention activities.
* Collaborates with interdisciplinary partners, including Quality, Patient Safety, Patient Experience, and clinical staff, to support assigned risk management initiatives.
* Supports departmental education and training efforts related to risk reporting processes and patient safety awareness.
* Performs administrative and operational support tasks necessary to maintain effective risk management workflows.
* Assists on the Patient Safety Awareness Week.
* Performs additional duties as assigned in support of departmental operations.

***** CORE QUALIFICATIONS
*** Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
* Interest in pursuing professional development in healthcare risk management, patient safety, or quality improvement is encouraged.
* Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
* Teamwork:
Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
* Technical Proficiency:
