Laboratory Technician

Job Description:

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual with strong attention to detail and organization to join our research and development team as the laboratory technician! This position requires a person who has some knowledge of laboratory duties and/or biological sciences. The candidate will perform comprehensive clinical laboratory procedures of low and high complexity as directed by the laboratory manager.

General responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Data entry
  • Maintenance of laboratory records including quality control, instrument logs, and inventory of reagents and supplies
  • CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Perform preparation of reagents and controls
  • Perform daily and weekly maintenance of equipment per SOPs (standard operating procedures) and any other applicable documentation
  • Maintain laboratory and equipment clean and functional (On the job training will be provided)
  • Perform all tasks related to clinical sample testing (blood, urine), including sample receipt, log-in, sample preparation and testing, recording test results, and disposing of samples
  • Organize stock and maintain inventory; order stock as needed
  • Adhere to existing safety standards and help improve laboratory safety practices whenever possible
  • Provide support to direct and extended R&D team as necessary

    CORE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate Degree with 3 years' experience
  • 4-year bachelor's degree (Chemistry, Biology, or other STEM related field) with 0-2 years' experience
  • Experience with urine chemistry and/or hematology diagnostic testing and instrumentation preferred
