** CORE JOB FUNCTIONS*
* * Verifies the patient’s checking their name and date of birth.
* Corroborates patient's clinical history and ensures information is documented and available for use.
* Assist with patient interviews before a procedure and documents all relevant information.
* Ensures that the attending radiologist obtains the proper informed consent.
* Prepares the patient for procedures to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
* Notifies appropriate person of any change(s) in patients’ status.
* Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures and strictly practices aseptic technique.
* Assists the radiologist throughout procedures with all the necessary supplies.
* Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
* Positions the patient for the examination and obtains good technical quality scout film of the area before starting procedures.
* Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of the patient during the procedure.
* Initiates life support measures for patients and assists in cardiopulmonary resuscitation during medical emergencies.
* Maintains working knowledge of all patient monitoring devices.
* Provides patient education in collaboration with other department staff.
* Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

***** CORE QUALIFICATIONS

* Education:
** Associate degree in relevant field; bachelor’s degree preferred
Certification and Licensing:
State of Florida General Radiographer License American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certified in Radiology
CPR/BLT certification

* Experience:
** Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
** Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
*** Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
* Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
* Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
* Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

* Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
