The Technician works under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and assists in the preparation, packaging, delivery, and charging of various medications in a manner consistent with Federal and State Laws, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals (JCAHO), and the Hospital's internal QA programs. The Technician will also be involved in inventory management functions, quality assurance activities and other pharmacy related activities, including the production of IVs.
Assisting in the various activities of the pharmacy department not requiring the professional judgment of a registered pharmacist, thus allowing for the proper care of our pediatric through geriatric patients. Medication preparation, compounding, delivery, crediting, charging and inventory ordering are among some of the tasks the pharmacy technician is required to perform.
Position QualificationsCurrent Florida License as a Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern required.
- Current Florida License as a Registered Pharmacy Technician
- Excellent communication skills
- Verbal, numerical, computer applications
- Good people skills, positive, motivated and enthusiastic.
- Minimum of two years hospital experience preferred.
