Join our team as a Safety Supervisor in Miami, Florida, where you will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing our health and safety programs. This full-time position requires a proactive and bilingual (Spanish and English) safety expert who can effectively implement safety protocols, conduct training sessions, and ensure full regulatory compliance throughout the plant.
Main Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for all on-site health and safety issues, collaborating with leadership to enforce safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA standards, state regulations, and company safety standards through regular monitoring.
- Conduct thorough site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, identifying hazards and suggesting corrective actions.
- Lead comprehensive incident investigations and develop preventive strategies based on root cause analyses.
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to promote the use of PPE and safe work practices.
- Organize and deliver safety training programs, including orientation for new hires and ongoing development sessions.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and assist with return-to-work programs.
- Maintain detailed safety records, reports, and documentation for internal and regulatory purposes.
- Collaborate with environmental personnel to perform necessary testing and support inspections.
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning and lead safety committee projects.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with excellent verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Demonstrated safety leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and safety auditing practices.
- Experience in facilitating training sessions and leading safety investigations.
- OSHA 30 Certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in safety documentation and management systems.
- Flexibility with work hours to meet operational and safety priorities.
