OverviewThe MVOL serves as the accountable medical lead for population‑based decision makers (PBDM) at the C&D‑suite level within priority accounts focused on Healthcare Delivery Networks & Systems. The role ensures clinical conviction and implementation of ViiV Long‑Acting Injectables and collaborates closely with the ViiV Corporate Accounts Team (VCAT) and ViiV Corporate Accounts Reimbursement Team (VCART) to provide a seamless customer experience.
ExternalResponsibilities
- Develop a scientific account plan and lead external medical engagements with health systems, integrated delivery networks, group purchasing organizations, academic medical centers, group practices, and other stakeholders to articulate the value of ViiV medicines.
- Display confidence and executive presence during external engagements to foster partnership and collaborative ideation.
- Build relationships with C&D‑suite customers, providing timely clinical, economic, and humanistic data to support access, management, and purchase decisions.
- Act with urgency and uphold commitments made to customers.
- Engage customers on near‑term pipeline assets, assess priorities and evidence needs, and support planning, budgeting, and reimbursement decisions for future access.
- Demonstrate strong leadership through influence and consensus‑building across teams.
- Work closely with VCAT and VCART to align on customer engagement strategy and appropriately engage medical influencers.
- Collaborate with U.S. Medical and RWE research teams to inform strategic asset planning.
- Participate in process, change, and capability initiatives for the MVOL and broader cross‑functional ViiV matrix teams.
- Contribute to a strong, collaborative, and inclusive team culture within the MVOL and matrix teams.
- Gather medical voice of the customer to generate key insights for access and value evidence strategy.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare environment, including reform, quality, population health priorities, HIT landscape, and how changes affect PBDMs.
- Develop and maintain expertise in product, disease state, pathways, health system environment, and reimbursement as required by scope.
- Assess collaborative capabilities, including RWE, and identify opportunities for partnership.
- Leverage cross‑functional partners and internal R&D resources to meet deep clinical or program implementation needs of PBDMs.
- Pharm
D, PhD, or MD. - 2+ years in a field‑based medical role such as medical affairs, health system engagement, or population‑based decision‑maker interactions, OR 5+ years of experience in a health system.
- Ability to travel, including overnight trips, 50%+ of the time.
- Residence within commuting distance to a major airport.
- Experience working cross‑functionally in a highly matrixed organization.
- Strong command of scientific and health outcomes/economic information.
- Strategic ideation, influence, and high‑impact relationship building with customers and internal teams.
- Customer‑focus, problem‑solving, conflict resolution, business acumen, and understanding of health system dynamics.
- Direct experience in payer, health system, or managed care environments.
- Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities independently.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
