The Ophthalmic Imager 2 (OI2) is competent in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care. The position documents in the EMR system and performs ocular diagnostic testing using specialized instrumentation in compliance with department standards
** Performs diagnostic testing including but not limited to the below.*
* • Color fundus photography  
• Fluorescein angiography  
• ICG (Indocyanine Green) angiography  
• Optical coherence tomography  
• Automated perimetry  
• Slit lamp photography  
• External photography  
• Ocular motility photography
*
* CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

*** Performs supervised ocular diagnostic testing using specialty-specific imaging instruments, documents procedures, and
* uploads images into the electronic medical record/PACS platform.
* Provides patient-centric care.
* Adheres to University of Miami policies, standards, and values.
* Complies with regulations and maintains patient confidentiality.
* Follows best practices of patient safety, hand hygiene, and infection control.
* Completes University of Miami mandatory in-services and online training.
* Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.
* Demonstrates high quality of work through accuracy, timeliness, professionalism, and thoroughness.
* Meets daily productivity goals.
* Ensures all equipment is calibrated, and instrumentation is in proper working order.
* Participates in assigned clinical research and maintains required certifications.
* Organizes and stock rooms for daily clinical activities.
* Travels to satellite eye centers when necessary.
* Works evenings and weekends as needed.
* Performs organizational duties as assigned.
* Maintains OPS certifications.
* Assists with training of visiting imaging technicians, residents, fellows, and faculty members.
* Works with providers, residents, and fellows to provide training and customization of imaging software including hanging
* protocols.
* Acts as preceptor for imaging team members.
* Acts as super user for imaging technology implementations and training initiatives.
* Supports residents, fellows, and faculty members with imaging presentations.
* Performs ocular diagnostic examinations using specialty-specific imaging instruments under anesthesia in the OR.

* Education:

** High School diploma or equivalent  
** Certification and Licensing:
** OCT-C (Certified Optical Coherence Tomography) or CRA (Certified Retinal Angiographer)

* Experience:

** 2 years of relevant experience
