Overview

TSP Talent Solutions has been retained by a global biopharmaceutical company specializing in severe orphan diseases to recruit an Associate Director, Medical Affairs – Southeast. This role serves as a key liaison to the medical and scientific community, focusing on building and maintaining relationships with leading experts in pediatric neurology and epilepsy across the Southeast. The position reports to the Medical Officer, North America within the North America subsidiary.

Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and manage professional relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs) to organize networks at state levels within their designated region
  • Ensure appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely, ethical, and health care provider-focused manner
  • Implement clinical and educational strategies in collaboration with other company colleagues for designated HCPs/KEEs, including organizing medical and scientific training sessions, conferences and symposiums in medical centers and during scientific congresses in the US
  • Contribute to an efficient organization of medical communication activities for the marketed drug
  • Execute and support department projects as directed by the Medical Officer
  • Report pharmacovigilance (PV), product quality (PQ), or medical information (MI) requests within 24 hours, per the SOPs for PV, PQ, and MI reporting
  • Ensure competitive and scientific intelligence is communicated to medical and leadership teams
  • Input all KEE/HCP interactions into the company’s software platform(s) in a timely manner (minimum weekly input)
  • Pair KEE/HCP educational and research questions with the latest emerging data in response to specific healthcare professional inquiries
Expanded Responsibilities (Optional)
  • Provide clinical and value-based input into company communications and materials, as directed by Medical Officer
  • Lead Medical Affairs Insights reporting
  • Act as liaison for Specialty Pharmacy data generation and Medical Affairs
  • Organize and update Standard HCP Response Letters
  • Provide recurring updates to Medical Affairs deck updates
  • Lead on inpatient ordering program
  • Act as Medical Affairs reviewer for PRC (promotional review committee) and MRC (medical review committee)
  • Assume expanded geographic and key HCP responsibilities
Qualifications
  • Advanced scientific degree preferred (MD, PhD, Pharm

    D) – also acceptable DNP or clinically equivalent (e.g., APRN, PA, RPh)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (preferred) in a field-based medical position (MSL or similar) providing strategic and scientific/medical direction to national/regional business unit functions
  • Preferred experience in rare disease, neurology or pediatrics
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and Medical Affairs SOPs and guidelines
  • Excellent project management, data analysis, communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to respond to stakeholder needs, manage expectations, work under deadline in a fast‑paced environment with flexibility
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and cross‑functional teams
  • Experience managing timelines, documents, reporting (project management preferred)
