Description
The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist I is responsible for establishing and expanding clinical services in the area of practice. Responsibilities include developing medication protocols, order sets, facilitating medication utilization reviews, and leading performance improvement projects to optimize drug therapy. The specialist provides mentorship and serves as a clinical resource for staff and other health care providers. They contribute expertise to clinical activities across pharmacy programs to ensure optimal patient outcomes, perform drug distribution functions as assigned, and demonstrate the ability to work with patient populations to meet quality improvement standards.

Qualifications- Doctorate.
- Registered Pharmacist license.
- Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.
D.). - Minimum 5 years of practice experience in the specialty area if no residency training, and Board Certification required.
- If no Board Certification, must obtain Board Certification of Pharmacy Specialist (BPS) within one year of hire.
- PGY1 residency with 2 years of practice experience in the specialty area and BPS required.
- PGY2 residency; must obtain BPS within one year of hire.
- PGY1 = 3 years of experience; PGY2 = 2 additional years beyond PGY
