Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

A full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist opportunity is available at a 417-bed acute care hospital in Miami, Florida. This highly respected facility is a Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, a Joint Commission-certified Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center, and one of only five American Burn Association-verified Burn Centers in the state. The hospital provides advanced, comprehensive care across a wide range of specialties while serving one of South Florida's most diverse communities.

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will play an essential role in delivering respiratory care to patients across a variety of clinical settings. This position involves assessing respiratory status, performing diagnostic procedures, administering therapies, and managing patients requiring advanced airway support and mechanical ventilation. Working closely with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team, you will help ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients with both routine and critical respiratory needs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, including evaluation of breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressures.
  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and other prescribed respiratory treatments.
  • Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation for patients requiring respiratory support.
  • Assist with artificial airway placement and management.
  • Monitor patient responses to respiratory treatments and make appropriate clinical interventions when needed.
  • Communicate significant patient changes promptly to providers and members of the care team.
  • Assist in the safe transport of ventilator-dependent patients throughout the hospital.
  • Respond to emergency situations requiring airway management and respiratory support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
  • Follow established clinical protocols and infection prevention standards.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree or Vocational School Graduate in Respiratory Therapy required.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) / Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) credential required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
