Phlebotomist – U‑Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Coral Springs, FL
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm with a 30‑minute lunch break.
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
- Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
- Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
- Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
- Provide superior customer service to all patients.
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
- Travel to additional sites when needed.
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program OR 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
- 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
- In order to ensure the safety of our patients, this position requires successful completion of medical surveillance testing as part of the post‑offer onboarding process, which includes TB testing and proof of immunity or vaccination for HepatitisB, Varicella, and MMR; and color‑blindness testing if required by the position.
