Patient Care Technician
positions are available with South Florida Baptist Hospital

BayCareas a Patient Care Technician.

• Day shifts are6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Night shifts are 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Pool (with different shift commitments ranging from 2 twelve-hour shifts to 3 twelve-hour shiftsper month, more shifts available if desired)

The Patient Care Technician:

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
• Assists the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care as directed by the RN.

Position Requires:

• A minimum of one year of CNA work experience in a skilled nursing facility; or a minimum of 6 months of PCT (Patient Care Tech)/CNA work experience in a hospital; or in lieu of experience may have completed approved CNA school (with clinicals); or nursing student with completion of Nursing Fundamentals
• Extended new hire training and new hire department orientation is available for new Florida licensed CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant with no experience yet.
• High School Diploma, GED or Certificate of Completion (minimum)
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (from American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
• Ability to work Full time hours is a plus!

Certifications and Licensures

Required Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.

Minimum Qualifications: You may qualify for the position through one of the following ways:

· 6 months acute care experience as a patient caregiver

· 1-year Skilled Nursing Facility experience as a patient caregiver

· Completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an RN or LPN program

· Completion of a Baycareapproved Nurse Assistant/PCT program--this program must include a minimum of 40 hours hands-on patient care experience outside of a lab setting

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; may also qualify with a Certificate of Completion
