Position Overview
Shift
:
Full‑Time – (40 hrs. M‑F) Days (depending on availability). Occasional on‑call and rotating weekends may be required.
Work Location
:
University of Miami Hospital – UTower Imaging Services.
Responsibilities
:
- Works with the Cardiac Imaging team to coordinate care for cardiac CT and MRI patients.
- Monitors image quality and works closely with physicians and technologists to develop, maintain, and ensure proper application of all image acquisition and post‑processing protocols.
- Develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates educational programs related to cardiac imaging and assists with research projects to improve knowledge and practice of providers and staff.
- Assists in establishing partnerships with community and regional healthcare providers to improve cardiac imaging care processes.
- Operates primarily a day shift; overtime may be required.
Required Qualifications
:
- CT and MRI experience and certification.
- Minimum of three years of cardiac tomographic imaging experience.
- Graduate of a two‑year AMA‑approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Proficiency in specialized image processing software and other PACS systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and work effectively with IT personnel.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Effective communication and writing skills.
- Ability to plan, direct, and evaluate the work of other personnel involved in cardiac imaging.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association‑endorsed program.
- Current CT or MRI certification.
Preferred Qualifications
:
- Public speaking experience.
- Ability to travel locally and regionally.
Core Qualifications (additional emphasis):
- Graduate of a two‑year AMA‑approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Proficiency in image processing software and PACS systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot with IT personnel.
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Communicate with patients regarding their test and assist with patient screening (MRI).
- Effective writing and communication skills.
- Plan and evaluate the work of other personnel involved in cardiac imaging.
- Optimize scanning protocols and quality checks while patient is on the scanner.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Education
:
Associate degree (AS or AA) or higher in the relevant field.
Certification and Licensing
:
Florida DOH License, and ARRT (CT) and (MRI) or equivalent certification.
Experience
:
- Minimum of 5 years of CT and MRI cardiac tomographic imaging experience.
- Current CT or MRI certification.
- Minimum 3 years of lead, charge or relevant experience in CT and MRI environments.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes
:
- Review goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
- Travel locally within the enterprise.
- Understand operations of various departments.
- Mentor, motivate, develop and train others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Public speaking experience.
