Early Steps Community Provider Recruitment and Training Coordinator

Full time Staff.

Pay Grade: H7.

Responsibilities
  • Supports the development and implementation of public education and outreach programs.
  • Works with community-based organizations to plan promotional educational and other events to increase awareness in the community.
  • Assists in publishing activities: writing, editing, budgeting, scheduling, and distribution.
  • Interacts effectively with outside advertising agencies, printers, photographers, and other vendors.
  • Aids with the preparation and distribution of public health education and navigation manuals.
  • Identifies effective strategies for promoting enrollment in ongoing studies, conducting active and passive recruitment in person and online outreach.
  • Conducts brief surveys by phone and in community settings.
  • Aids with compiling data for presentations.
  • Develops professional relationships with mental health providers, researchers, and community members.
  • Collaborates with team members on special projects and events.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  • Proactively plans and manages recruitment for new Early Steps direct service providers, including campaign creation.
  • Develops and initiates the Early Steps Provider Recruitment and Retention Plan and reports yearly results to Florida’s Early Steps State Office.
  • Analyzes zip code areas’ needs, gaps, and overflow for each category of direct service providers (ITDS, PT, OT, Speech, Hearing and others).
  • Recruits new Early Steps providers (agencies and individuals) to serve children in needed zip code areas.
  • Conducts preliminary on‑site visits for new agencies and assesses qualifications of direct service providers.
  • Ensures all direct service providers’ education and experience meet Florida Early Steps policy requirements.
  • Collects and reviews enrollment paperwork for final approval.
  • Maintains and updates staff and provider information per policy and Medicaid requirements.
  • Tracks re‑certification of Infant Toddler Development Specialists to meet State requirements.
  • Supports professional development initiatives by tracking, monitoring, and reporting provider fidelity.
  • Works with direct service providers to submit annual coaching videos for review.
  • Maintains records related to provider eligibility for the FL‑EPIC fee and communicates eligibility.
  • Performs other tasks related to recruitment, professional development, and training as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum four years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the Early Steps Service Delivery System preferred.
  • Familiarity with Dade County community and its providers (occupational, speech, and physical therapists) desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong public speaking skills.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Commitment to the University’s core values.
