ROP Consultants of Florida P.A. is a compassionate and family-oriented pediatric ophthalmology practice dedicated to helping children achieve their best vision in a caring, supportive environment. We7re seeking a bilingual (English Spanish) Ophthalmic Technician who enjoys working with children and families. This role will also include cross-training in front office responsibilities, offering a well-rounded opportunity within our growing team.
Responsibilities- Perform pediatric patient workups, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, color vision, stereopsis, refractions, and other age-appropriate diagnostic testing.
- Assist the ophthalmologist during exams.
- Accurately document patient findings and testing results in the EHR.
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
- Provide clear, compassionate communication with children and their families.
- Greet and check in patients in both English and Spanish.
- Schedule appointments, confirm visits, and manage daily patient flow.
- Verify insurance eligibility, collect payments, and maintain accurate records.
- Answer phone calls and assist families with questions about visits or follow-ups.
- Previous ophthalmic or optometric experience preferred; certification (COA/COT) a plus but not required.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.
- Experience working with children or in a pediatric setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong computer and EHR skills (experience with Mod Med preferred).
- Excellent communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to cross-train in both clinical and administrative roles.
