Credentialing Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Credentialing Specialist to support high-volume provider credentialing, facility enrollment, and privileging initiatives. This individual will primarily focus on hospital credentialing, ambulatory surgery center (ASC) credentialing, and payer enrollment activities. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, comfortable working in a fully remote environment, and skilled at managing large volumes of applications while maintaining detailed documentation and follow-up.
This position is heavily focused on administrative execution, data entry, documentation management, and ongoing communication with providers, facilities, and insurance payers to ensure applications move efficiently through the credentialing process.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Complete hospital and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) credentialing applications
- Support payer enrollment for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
- Coordinate provider privileging activities with hospitals and surgery centers
- Communicate with providers regarding missing information and documentation
- Follow up with facilities and payers regarding application status
- Maintain detailed notes and documentation within credentialing systems
- Review and audit provider files for completeness and compliance
- Enter credentialing data accurately into internal systems
- Organize credentialing records and maintain supporting documentation
- Manage multiple credentialing applications simultaneously
- Assist with special projects related to provider enrollment and credentialing operations
- Support overflow work resulting from organizational growth and increased provider onboarding
