CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
- Lead design, standardization, and execution of onboarding and training programs across all pharmacy service lines
- Establish and enforce consistent orientation frameworks, competencies, and learning pathways
- Maintain and continuously update training content to reflect clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and system priorities
- Delivering ongoing education initiatives to support clinical excellence, operational performance, and compliance
- Oversee and support pharmacy residency programs, including curriculum coordination and preceptor development
- Identify and operationalize career development pathways for pharmacists, residents, and pharmacy staff
- Drive continuing education strategy aligned with departmental and organizational goals
- Support recruitment and onboarding of residents and pharmacy talent
- Partner with clinical leadership to align education programs with evolving care models and patient outcomes
- Lead training initiatives tied to new program launches, workflow changes, and system implementations
- Ensure rapid integration of regulatory, accreditation, and best practice updates into education programs
- Collaborate with informatics and operations to support adoption of pharmacy systems and digital tools
- Own governance and documentation of training, competencies, and licensure compliance
- Ensure readiness for audits, accreditation surveys, and regulatory reviews
- Monitor training completion, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions
- Align all education initiatives with organizational policies and professional standards
- Serve as the enterprise-wide leader for pharmacy education and workforce development
- Partner with Pharmacy leadership, HR, and academic institutions to strengthen talent pipelines
- Provide strategic direction and support to preceptors, educators, and training stakeholders
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and performance improvement
- Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
Completion of a PG1 and PGY2
Certification and Licensing:Active Pharmacist license in the State of Florida required or eligible for licensure
Experience:Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM Department Specific Functions Health System Pharmacy Education Scope- Coordinate education and training across multiple pharmacy service lines, including inpatient, outpatient, specialty, and infusion services
- Tailor training programs to the unique workflows, patient populations, and regulatory requirements of each pharmacy setting
- Ensure alignment of education initiatives with system-wide pharmacy strategy and site-specific operational needs
- Develop targeted education for specialty pharmacy programs (e.g., oncology, neurology, infectious disease, home infusion)
- Support training on high-cost and high-risk medications, including REMS programs and payer-driven requirements
- Partner with clinical pharmacists to ensure competency in disease state management and therapy optimization
- Provide training on 340B program requirements, compliance standards, and operational workflows
- Educate staff on medication utilization, cost management strategies, and financial performance drivers
- Support understanding of payer dynamics, prior authorization processes, and reimbursement implications
- Lead training efforts related to EHR systems (e.g., Epic/Willow), dispensing platforms, and automation technologies
- Collaborate with informatics teams to support system upgrades, optimization, and end-user adoption
- Ensure staff competency in data capture, documentation standards, and reporting tools
- Integrate medication safety principles into all training programs, including error prevention and reporting processes
- Support education related to clinical quality initiatives, including adherence, outcomes tracking, and patient safety metrics
- Partner with quality teams to align education with performance improvement initiatives
- Support training for programs such as Meds-to-Beds, discharge counseling, and ambulatory care services
- Ensure staff are equipped to deliver patient education, adherence support, and care coordination
- Align training with population health and value-based care initiatives
- Collaborate with colleges of pharmacy and external partners to support experiential learning (IPPE/APPE rotations)
