What You’ll Do
As a Orthopedic Technologist, you will:
- Applies and removes cast, splints, and immobilization devices using appropriate materials, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Applies and removes skin, skeletal, and manual traction in accordance with physician instructions and clinical best practices.
- Measures, fits, adjusts, and educates patients on orthopedic bracing and durable medical equipment (DME), including device care, activity precautions, and post‑application expectations.
- Implements treatment plan and plan of care, providing follow-up services to ensure proper fit and patient comfort, within scope limitations.
- Provides excellent patient care and customer service that reflects Breg’s values and commitment to high‑quality patient care.
- Collects, verifies, and enters patient demographics, required claim and clinical documentation, authorizations, and signatures before or immediately after orthotic device fittings, ensuring patient charts are complete, accurate, and entered into the system to support compliant, timely billing.
- Accurately records materials used, devices applied, and any adjustments made.
- Maintains inventory of casting supplies, bracing, and orthopedic equipment for assigned facility locations, ensuring adequate stock and timely replenishment.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements related to workflow, patient care, or inventory management.
- Develops and maintains effective professional relationships with physicians, clinical partners, patients, and cross-functional internal teams.
- Performs a variety of administrative and claims support functions, including paper claim scanning, queue management, mail handling, overnight shipping, faxing, copying, filing, supply management, and general correspondence to support efficient office operations.
- Adheres to all Breg policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and applicable healthcare regulations, including safety standards, device‑related documentation protocols, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements.
- Responsible for behaving in a professional manner both internally and externally in relationships that positively impact the company's reputation and comply with the company's policies and practices. Responsible for being accountable and committed to demonstrating Breg’s cultural beliefs and achieving the key results of the company.
- Responsible for promoting Breg's culture within the organization using established tools such as storytelling, providing focused feedback, and recognition. The performance of the position is aligned with the culture of commitment and accountability, following the steps of:

What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (e.g., DMEPOS, wound care, casting) required.
