MHS I, DAY TREATMENT PROGRAM (PSR)

Active - Hourly full-time Professional Miami, FL, US

Salary Range: $17.36 To $24.26 Hourly

POSITION

PURPOSE:

To provide socialization, educational, occupational, and recreational services to Day Treatment clients.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education/Experience
    :
    Bachelor’s Degree in a Behavioral Science or related field. At least 6 months experience providing human/social services to clients.
  • Licensure / Certification
    :
    Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License. Maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association, and other certifications provided by CHI.
  • Skills / Ability
    :
    Diagnostic and intervention skills and abilities in working with chronic mental health clients. Must be computer literate.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (THIS IS A NON-EXEMPT POSITION)
  • Plans and coordinate occupational, recreational, social and educational activities for clients.
  • Implements and coordinates occupational, recreational, social and educational activities for clients.
  • Supervises clients while they engage in Day Treatment activities.
  • Assists clients in resolving minor daily living dilemmas.
  • Keeps attendance records of clients.
  • Uses community resources in planning client activities.
  • Keeps updated files on community resources.
  • Teaches daily living skills to clients.
  • Makes daily entries in client’s chart describing their progress.
  • Develops and updates clients’ treatment plans on a regular (6 months) and as needed basis.
  • Assists clients in procuring special events/transportation tickets.
  • Notifies Case Managers of deterioration in their clients’ mental and/or physical condition.
  • Participates in routine and episodic staff’s evaluations of clients’ development/progress.
  • Participates in staff meetings and follow through with assignments given.
  • Facilitates continuum of care and advocacy functions for clients.
  • Maintains a patient care load ratio of 1-10 consisting principally of clients with chronic mental illness who may be in need of supportive Day Treatment Mental Health Services.
  • Completes all administrative and statistical reports as needed.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement Activities and Peer Reviews as required.
  • Attends in-service and seminars to improve knowledge and skills in regard to position.
  • Submits reports on a timely manner as requested by supervisor.
  • Coordinates transportation needs of patients.
  • Maintains strong interpersonal relationship with peers and other departmental colleagues.
  • Completes documentation on behalf of the client within prescribed time frame.
  • Adheres to BHCC’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Attends mandatory in-service training within prescribed time frame.
  • Participates in student education activities.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of patient information, records and other sensitive information.
  • Communicates and solves problems through the proper chain of command.
  • Provides services in a sensitive, non-judgmental, and non-discriminatory manner to a diverse population.
  • Responds to administrative/special task assignments.
  • Is receptive to constructive feedback from supervisors and peer.
  • Calls and reports to supervisor when absent due to illness and family emergencies.
  • Promotes a positive work environment.
  • Provides coverage in the absence of peers and maintains collaborative teamwork.
  • Maintains flexibility in regard to expected or unexpected changes in the work environment.
  • Writes reports of unusual incidences/occurrences within the proper time frame and submits them to the supervisor.
  • Maintains 80% productivity monthly.
  • Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism.
  • Completes B&E (billing and encounter) forms within the same day of intervention.
  • Provides accurate and timely documentation in patient charts within the same day of intervention.
  • Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
