Position: Equipment Tech II (Full Time, Days)

Job Summary:

Retrieves soiled Respiratory Therapy (RT) equipment from patient care areas, decontaminates RT equipment, reassembles and performs basic performance tests to prepare RT equipment for patient use. Completes paper-based log with decontamination status; maintains respiratory care supplies at par levels throughout RT supply rooms. Answers department phone and assists customers, communicating patient information with RT staff.

Minimum

Job Requirements:
  • 1-3 years healthcare experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate sufficiently well in English both verbally and in writing to request supplies and properly label supply items.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions to accomplish repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to relate cooperatively and constructively with clients and peers.
  • Knowledge in use of computers and printers, and/or ability to learn appropriate software application(s).
  • Knowledge of Spanish helpful.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
Job

Specific Duties :
  • Delivers and collects respiratory therapy equipment to/from patient care areas.
  • Assists with medical gas cylinder transfers and maintains inventory control.
  • Performs daily patient rounds to track equipment inventory.
  • Performs the decontamination, testing, and reassembly of respiratory therapy equipment as per department policies and procedures.
  • Completes paper-based log with decontamination status.
  • Responds to requests for respiratory therapy services and alerts appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Maintains respiratory care supplies at par levels throughout RT supply rooms.
  • Answers department phone and assists customers promptly and courteously, communicating patient information with RT staff.
