Pulmonary / Respiratory Care, Respiratory Therapist
Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis, and emphysema
Work with physicians, nurses, pulmonologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Conduct pulmonary function screenings and comprehensive pulmonary function tests using spirometry equipment
Educate patients on test preparation, respiratory equipment, inhalers, nebulizers, and medications such as albuterol
Administer albuterol after pulmonary function examinations
Conduct pre- and post-pulmonary function testing and other diagnostic evaluations
Monitor patient progress, treatment effectiveness, equipment functionality, and patient comfort
Communicate with pulmonologists and team members as necessary
Maintain a safe and clean environment and follow respiratory therapy safety protocols
- Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Experience performing spirometry testing
- Must be available on occasional weekdays; no weekends
- Knowledge of respiratory equipment and medications
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- NBRC certification and/or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) certification preferred
- AARC Office Spirometry Certificate accepted
Demonstrates expertise in assessing and treating respiratory conditions, conducting pulmonary function tests, and educating patients on respiratory care. Proficient in collaborating with healthcare teams to develop effective treatment plans and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
