Lab – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities
  • Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.
  • Prepare specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
  • Explain procedures to patients to create a trusting environment and ensure their comfort during specimen collection.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow safety protocols to ensure a safe, professional environment.
  • Record and document specimen collection details accurately in required records and systems.
  • Perform specimen collection and processing duties confidently, adhering to best practices.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors and a focus on process excellence to support team efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment at all times.
Required Skills
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with keyboard/data entry for accurate record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; more than one year preferred.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
