Outreach Specialist 2
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Outreach Specialist 2 to work at the UHealth campus in Miami, Fl.
The Outreach Specialist 2 supports in developing and implementing new and existing public education and outreach programs, serving as a liaison to the community. Moreover, the incumbent performs a wide variety of duties and demonstrates a high level of professionalism and effectiveness. The Outreach Specialist 2 utilizes project management skills to organize community outreach activities.
Core functions include:
- Supports in the development and implementation of public education and outreach programs.
- Works with community-based organizations to plan promotional educational and other events targeted towards designing an increased awareness in the community.
- Assists in the publishing activities: writing, editing, budgeting, scheduling, and distribution.
- Interacts effectively with outside advertising agencies, printers, photographers, and other vendors.
- Aids with the preparation and distribution of public health education and navigation manuals.
- Identifies effective strategies for promoting enrollment in ongoing studies, conducting active and passive recruitment, in-person, and online outreach.
- Conducts brief surveys by phone and in community settings.
- Aids with compiling data for presentations.
- Develops professional relationships with health providers, researchers, and community members.
- Collaborates with other members of the team on special projects and events.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core qualifications include:
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field - Certification and Licensing:
Phlebotomy Certification - Experience:
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience - Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Commitment to the University's core values.
- Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
