POSITION SUMMARY:
The Bar Manager oversees operations, staffing, training, and customer service for the bar and lounge at Joia Beach. We seek an experienced hospitality leader to motivate the bar and lounge team to deliver exceptional service in a high-volume environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Overall Operations and MOD responsibilities
· Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts, serving as the primary point of leadership and decision-making.
· Open and close the venue according to company procedures.
· Ensure all operational standards are met throughout service periods.
· Coordinate front-of-house activities to ensure smooth service flow between bar, restaurant, and lounge areas.
· Address operational issues, guest concerns, and staff needs in real time.
Procurement and Curation:
· Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the procurement of high-quality wine, liquor, and beer.
· Curate an appealing and diverse beverage menu, keeping up with industry trends and customer preferences.
· Regularly evaluate and update the beverage selection to maintain freshness and relevance.
Inventory Management:
· Oversee inventory levels, always ensuring a well-stocked bar.
· Implement efficient stock rotation practices and conduct regular inventory audits.
· Manage budget and control costs without compromising on quality.
Staff Management:
· Hire, train, and manage bar and lounge staff to ensure excellent customer service.
· Schedule staff shifts and manages payroll for the bar and lounge team.
· Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing staff development and training.
Customer Experience:
· Ensure a high standard of customer service is always maintained.
· Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
· Create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all guests.
Compliance and Safety:
· Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding alcohol service and health and safety regulations.
· Implement and enforce responsible alcohol service policies.
· Maintain a clean and safe environment for both staff and customers.
Marketing and Promotions:
· Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the bar and lounge.
· Organize and host special events, tastings, and promotions to attract and retain customers.
LICENSE/QUALIFICATIONS:
· 3+ years management experience in high-volume bar/lounge operations
· Knowledge of restaurant operations, licensing, regulations
· Strong leadership, communication, motivation, and people skills
· Creative thinker with an eye for detail
· Prior experience with entertainment, events, and promotions
