In Room Dining & Marketplace Supervisor

Supervises all aspects of the In Room Dining and Marketplace Department.

Responsible for being knowledgeable about all menu items and for taking accurate guest orders and putting them in the system, while providing a comfortable and genuine experience for the guest.

• Responsible for scheduling for staff on a weekly basis (to be approved and posted by Thursday of each week).
• Conduct walkthroughs of facilities to ensure that all support areas are neat, organized and in compliance with all established and approved set ups.
• Ensure supplies for area are maintained to established par levels and within the specified budgets for respective line items.
• Ensure all recreation support staff is in compliance with all standards of operation and guest interactions.
• Ability to coach and motivate team to achieve stated revenue and guest satisfaction goals.
• Conduct monthly departmental meetings.
• Perform payroll for recreation support staff.
• Knowledge of staffing to accommodate business demands.
• Attend all management training and development within hotel.
• Monitor progress of quest dining experience and remove trays and tables from guest floors at appropriate time; return them to designated locations in a prompt and orderly fashion.
• Assist with preparation of guest amenities and deliver to guest rooms; remove when appropriate.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Doral Golf Resort & Spa from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the industry that we are in, a need will occur for each associate to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as a result there will be times when our associates in the Operation will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur.

If this is the case the manager is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained.

• Perform all assigned side work such as replenishing condiments and restocking side stands.
• Abide by all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Demonstrated team building experience.
• Knowledge of computer operating systems.
• Ability to work outdoors.

• Ability to read the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials.
• Ability to communicate orally and verbally in English with staff and outside entities. Certain positions will require the ability to read and write in English as well.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote service offerings.
• Ability to effectively deal with guest complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the guest and providing positive and proactive solutions.
