Job Description

Night Auditors and desk agents are responsible for greeting and registering guests, providing outstanding guest service during their stay, and settling the guest’s account upon completion of their stay. However, the realm of responsibilities will extend beyond that of a typical front desk agent, allowing the Guest Service Agent to expand their skill sets and work in a fast‑paced environment with new challenges daily.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Register guests, make and modify reservations, and perform hotel operator and concierge duties.
  • Possess a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Multi‑task, be detail‑oriented, and problem‑solve to effectively deal with internal and external customers, and close the night operations/night audit procedures.
Duties
  • Have a flexible schedule;
    Friday and Saturday night audit shifts are mandatory.
  • Ensure accurate check‑in and check‑out of all hotel guests.
  • Collect payments and post them in the system.
  • Use proper telephone etiquette when answering phones.
  • Respond to guest inquiries about amenities and the surrounding area.
  • Attend department meetings as necessary.
  • Perform shift audit at completion of shift (Night Auditor Only).
  • Perform cashiering duties utilizing MSI for hotel store purchases.
  • Follow safety and security procedures.
  • Communicate as necessary with other departments.
  • Understand and apply emergency procedures.
Qualifications
  • Considerable knowledge of computer systems for registration, reservations, and backup systems.
  • Above average mathematical comprehension to understand and interpret numbers as they apply to hotel operations.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to communicate with guests and employees.
  • Thorough organizational and supervisory skills for accomplishing tasks.
  • Ability to develop subordinates to enhance advancement within the hotel and company.
  • Ability to analyze complex statistical data and make judgments accordingly.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
