Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting Front Desk Hosts to join our team. Located in an art‑deco building that is an architectural landmark, the hotel features 287 guestrooms, including 64 suites, and the only ocean‑view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design incorporates texture, art, and pops of color, with floor‑to‑ceiling windows, deep‑soaking tubs, cozy reading nooks, and private terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and Miami skyline.
Guests enjoy a full‑service spa, fitness center, a José Andrés destination dining experience, two pools, a Beach Club, and 25,000 square feet of event space.
Front Desk Hosts are responsible for the guest registration process and the communication of hotel services and promotions. They are the face of Hyatt, engaging guests from arrival to departure, ensuring a memorable experience. Duties also include processing payments, responding to inquiries, assisting with PBX operator duties, and concierge support as needed. Hosts are eligible for up to 18% commission on upsells.
PositionResponsibilities / Essential Functions
- Greeting and thanking guests according to Forbes standards.
- Performing all guest check‑in and check‑out procedures, including obtaining or confirming guest information, assigning rooms, activating and distributing keys.
- Posting charges to guest accounts and collecting payment for room charges and other fees.
- Making and confirming reservations for guests.
- Answering phones and directing calls to appropriate personnel.
- Anticipating and addressing guests’ needs and resolving problems and complaints.
- Collaborating and communicating with internal departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Following all established SOPs and using approved checklists.
- Upselling guest rooms and promoting World of Hyatt (WOH) and other hotel services.
- Completing various additional tasks and assignments as needed.
- Minimum of a Diploma in Hospitality/Tourism Management or a relevant field.
- Fluency in a second language is an asset.
- Good working knowledge of Reserve/Opera software.
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications.
- Refined verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
- Physically agile, able to stand or walk for long periods.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
