Alex Hagen with Connexa Search is recruiting for a Payroll and HR Associate to support payroll and benefits administration for a professional services organization.

This role is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing and employee benefits administration while ensuring compliance with all applicable wage, hour, and benefits regulations. The position works closely with HR leadership and serves as a key point of contact for employees, vendors, and brokers related to pay and benefits matters.

Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time using ADP
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
  • Manage payroll changes including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, bonuses, and deductions
  • Coordinate final pay calculations and off-cycle payrolls as needed
  • Reconcile payroll reports, investigate discrepancies, and respond to payroll inquiries
  • Support year-end payroll processes including W-2 preparation and audits
  • Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, FSA, HSA, and commuter benefits
  • Manage employee enrollments, changes, and terminations, including COBRA administration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits vendors and brokers
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment, including employee communications and system updates
  • Assist employees with benefits questions, claims issues, and leave-related benefits including PFL, STD, LTD, and FMLA
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and other applicable benefits regulations
  • Maintain accurate employee data across payroll and benefits platforms
  • Support integrations between ADP and benefits vendors
  • Assist with audits and maintain proper documentation
  • Provide responsive and confidential support to employees regarding pay and benefits
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes related to payroll and benefits
  • Partner with HR leadership on policy updates, process improvements, and employee communications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
  • Professional services experience is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll laws and benefits compliance
  • Hands-on experience with ADP or a comparable HRIS or payroll system
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
