This is a full-time, on-site role located in Miami, FL for a Human Resources Generalist. The HR Generalist will support daily HR operations, including the implementation of HR policies, remaining in compliance for all employee onboarding, recruitment, payroll processing, and managing employee benefits. In this position, you will help organize, coordinate, and carry out all human resources department projects and processes for the company.
This includes all unemployment claims, workers' compensation cases, investigations, onboarding and termination of managerial personnel, training, and company education procedures for new or existing managers. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and most importantly, a great communicator with a flair for interacting with all managers and employees.
- Works directly with and reports to the Human Resources Manager regarding all HR endeavors.
- Support HR department in educating and enforcing employees and managers on company policies.
- Oversees and maintains all HR and employee-related paperwork, such as employment verifications, resumes, hiring and termination paperwork, reminders for performance appraisals and birthdays, benefit enrollments, rate changes, transfers, and updates.
- Recruitment and Staffing for all locations to include, but not limited to, posting positions on various sites, screening applications/resumes, interviewing candidates, setting up interviews, attending job fairs, creating job descriptions, preparing offer letters, and forwarding rejection letters. Complete all new hire paperwork within three days.
- Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, reviews, etc.) and take minutes.
- Responsible for the overall operations of benefits packages to include open enrollment, benefit orientation, PTO, Insurance, and FMLA.
- Supervise and Manage COBRA, Workers Compensation Claims, and Unemployment Claims.
- Maintain Legal compliance and routine audits of I9 documents.
- Approve the Biweekly payroll and ensure all PTOs, bonuses, and any events were paid out correctly.
- Help supervisors in assessing employee files, disciplinary actions, engagement, and evaluation; oversee and approve all employee recognition programs.
- Manage the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees and evaluate strategic planning to keep the employee engaged.
- Conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary.
- Responsible for handling and evaluating all descriptions and employee of the month announcements.
- Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and assist.
- Maintain open lines of communication with all departments.
- Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Experience in Human Resources (HR), including HR Management and HR Policies.
- Knowledge of Employee Benefits and expertise in Benefits Administration.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an on-site, collaborative team environment.
- Familiarity with federal and state labor laws and compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
