Position Summary

The Manager, HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor to business leaders, aligning people strategies with organizational goals. This role balances employee relations expertise, compliance, and culture leadership to drive performance, engagement, and risk mitigation across the organization. You’ll manage the intersection of people and performance; guiding and coaching leaders through complex employee relations matters and best practices, and employees through questions, concerns, policies while ensuring a consistent, legally compliant employee experience across multiple jurisdictions.

This role supervises HRBP’s and Onboarding/Admin personnel. Ensuring workflows, case management processes, compliance protocols, and people operations are executed efficiently and consistently. The Manager, HRBP partners closely with attorneys, paralegals, corporate liaisons, and administrative teams to support people centric service delivery and ensure operational excellence within the employee life cycle. This is a hybrid role that requires supervision of on-site team members to ensure daily HR support and coverage.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director, HR in a wide range of tasks such as employee relations, employment laws and regulations, pay and leave compliance, performance management, policy interpretation and guidance, and talent management.
  • Serve as the primary managerial point of contact for employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Provide guidance on leave management; FMLA, ADA, STD, state specific, and accommodations.
  • Support audits, documentation, and reporting requirements (e.g., EEO, leave tracking).
  • Mitigate risk through consistent application of policies and employment laws across jurisdictions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (multi-state environment).
  • Partner on development and maintenance of employee handbooks, addendums, policies, frameworks and SOP’s.
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding functions to include new hire orientation, processes, asset provisioning and return in collaboration with IT, Operations and respective office management.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding compliance aspects, i.e., background checks, verifications, adverse actions, work authorizations, last pay, time off payouts, and related audit items.
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding and offboarding experience to include cross collaboration with respective support teams; talent, hiring managers, corporate liaisons, IT, payroll, benefits, finance, accounting, training, and shared support services.
  • Support HR projects such as HRIS implementations, process improvements, and culture initiatives.
  • Support law clerk program, ad hoc events and projects related to hiring, employee engagement, and community events.
  • Drive adoption of new programs, tools, and processes across client groups.
  • Use data and insights to inform decision-making and measure impact.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or HR Management preferred. SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification highly desired.
  • Five to seven years of progressive leadership experience in human resources management and leading a team of HR support services.
