Salary: $70,000 - $110,000 a year
Position SummaryThe People team at Okendo is here to ensure every employee has the best experience of their working life. As our People Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in keeping our systems and processes running smoothly, compliantly, and with care. You’ll take ownership of our HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration, while also helping to shape and scale the structures that support a high‑performing, people‑first culture.

- Coordinate and manage a seamless onboarding experience: documentation, equipment, access setup, scheduling, and welcome touchpoints
- Coordinate with team internally to ensure smooth offboarding including knowledge transitions and exit processes
- Manage and maintain accurate employee records across HRIS and internal systems
- Ensure compliance with local labor regulations and support audits as needed
- Support visa and contract processes across the United States and Australia
- Serve as a key contact for benefit‑related questions and enrollment support
- Collaborate with Finance to provide accurate monthly payroll data
- Lead open enrollment, vendor communication, and benefits documentation
- Work closely with the Chief of Staff to lead and execute cross‑functional People projects (e.g. performance reviews, employee surveys, compensation cycle planning, process documentation)
- Build project plans with clear milestones, timelines, and stakeholder communication
- Track and report progress across initiatives to ensure alignment and accountability
- Identify blockers and propose solutions that improve outcomes and efficiency
- Maintain and report on People metrics like headcount, turnover, DEI progress, and engagement
- Leverage data insights to support strategic recommendations and continuous improvement
- Support engagement initiatives, including virtual events, recognition programs, and feedback loops
- Serve as a culture champion—ensuring Okendo’s values are reflected in policies, processes, and communications
- Be a trusted point of contact for employee questions around HR policies and programs
You are based in Miami.
- 4–7 Years of experience in People Operations / Human Resources with a primary focus on at least one of the following: payroll, benefits, compliance, onboarding/offboarding.
- Experience managing or supporting cross‑functional projects with clear timelines and deliverables.
- Familiarity with our tech stack:
Rippling, Guideline, Google/GSuite, Apple Business, Lever, Notion, Asana. - Feel free to show off your certifications:
Bachelor's degree, Masters, SHRM, etc. - You have an eye for detail and ideally an eye for design.
- You love process and documentation. Notion boards are your thing.
- You are a locked safe. You can handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality at all times and without error.
- Document your onboarding process and work with the CoS to introduce a best‑in‑class onboarding process for future hires.
- Work with leadership to establish a project roadmap for your first quarter and develop a breakdown plan to meet major milestones so we can deliver on time.
- Learn and document the payroll process and understand any nuances involved.
- Learn and document company benefits information to prepare for open enrollment.
- Build strong relationships with partners across the company.
- You have developed strong working relationships with your People team and you are providing prompt responses to HR requests from employees.
- You’re managing multiple large projects and you are delivering on smaller projects.
- Payroll is always on time.
- You’ve helped create a system so the team can stay on top of changing local, state, and federal laws.
